Volunteer Recognition Awards 2024

The 2024 Volunteer Recognition Awards took place on April 4 at the Cambridge Public Library. Thank you, volunteers, for being part of our community of caring adults that support the personal and academic success of Cambridge Public school students.

Caleb is a first-year tutor celebrated for extraordinary enthusiasm and adaptability. Initially matched with one student, Caleb soon was tutoring a small group of students on a variety of subjects. Those students admire Caleb’s patience and knack for explaining difficult material in ways they can understand.

We celebrate the Kennedy-Longfellow School for its innovation and enduring commitment to harnessing the community to benefit students. The K-Lo brings volunteers from local companies into the classroom and gets students visiting the companies. Today, K-Lo teachers host more CSV volunteers and programs than any other school in Cambridge.

Dan has been a Reading Buddy at Fletcher Maynard Academy for 25 of the 27 years he has worked at Sanofi/Genzyme. Dan served on CSV’s Board from 2015-2019 and was the Board Vice President and President for part of that time. This year Dan stepped up to be the Sanofi Reading Buddies Coordinator and he also joined the Sanofi NetPals team as a mentor for three 7th graders at Rindge Avenue Upper Campus.
