supporting Cambridge public school students

Julie Croston

Julie Croston, CSV’s director of recruitment and communications, divides her time at CSV between recruiting volunteers in our community and singing their praises (often on social media)—while also coordinating CSV’s innovative Art & Science in One program. Julie first joined CSV in 2014 as a grant writer/development associate.

Julie received a bachelor of arts from Wesleyan University and received a doctor of philosophy in African History from Boston University. Her primary research took her to Botswana, where she studied the 20th-century history of farm labor. Since then, Julie has taught at Boston University and Yale, and worked for a number of nonprofits on Cape Cod and in Boston.

In addition to working at CSV, Julie is an arts-based environmental education consultant for the local nonprofit Green Cambridge and a member of the Cambridge Healthy Children Task Force.

Julie loves to garden, kayak, and spend time with her two children, who are members of the CRLS classes of 2019 and 2025.
